Teen Health

In addition to our regular pediatric services, we also have four school-based clinics to reach out to teens and the communities surrounding these schools.  We are committed to encouraging the growing independence of our youth, offering them privacy while also helping them identify adult and peer support as they confront new life issues.  Medical services are complemented by integrated behavioral health opportunities.

These services include:

  • Primary medical and dental health services

  • Mental health and depression support groups

  • School-mandated and other vaccinations

  • Reproductive health services including: birth control methods, pregnancy tests, STI testing and support group

Lack of preventive reproductive health services and education for adolescents can lead to high rates of unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.

As a result of St. John’s adolescent health services and teen pregnancy and STI-prevention education program, STI rates for adolescent patients at our school based health centers have decreased by over 25%.
